Love Is Not Only Something You Feel. It is Something You Do

Love Is Not Only Something You Feel. It is Something You Do

Love Love Love. All you need is Love. This is the time when those words need to be sung loud and clear. Life is a series of changes, from the weather to our politics.  And it's times like these that LOVE is the message we should all be sending.  With Valentines's Day around the corner the awareness of romantic love is everywhere and to love and nurture ourselves, our communities, our sisters is also significant. We sometimes take ourselves and those closest to us for granted. Most people don't show their love because they're afraid of being seen as vulnerable or weak. Just remember...

New Prints New Year

New Prints New Year

Hi Gorgeous Women, We’re working on some new prints for this year’s collection.  I always find that an exciting, albeit a painstaking time. We know it’s important that you find the style, colors and prints that help you coordinate your wardrobe. There is so much that goes into what makes your specific style. And it should be that way because your outward fashion is what the world sees of you, and what you are showing the world. Your wardrobe should be thought out and planned in a way that it leaves you feeling even more connected to yourself then when...

How to Turn on Happiness in your Life

How to Turn on Happiness in your Life

At LuLuBdesign, we know that how a woman looks on the outside is a reflection of how she feels on the inside. When you’re feeling good and enjoying yourself, and loving your life—that’s when you look and feel your best.  I know life isn’t always pleasure and joy. How Do You Celebrate?

How Do You Celebrate?

Christmas is here! Christmas is here! The joyous excitement of children waking up their parents to come and open up the gifts under the tree is universal. Although I wasn’t raised celebrating Christmas, I feel that something changes around this time of year that makes it very special, something magnetic and magical draws people to each other. What is it that makes this time of year so special? Is it the gifts underneath the tree, the lights in the windows, the dinners with family and friends, the stockings hanging with care, and the shouts of "Merry Christmas" to those who pass...

Women Are Not Yet Equal?!

Women Are Not Yet Equal?!

I find it absolutely amazing that women in the U.S. don't have equal rights. For over 240 years we have been the subject of discriminatory attitudes and treatment. It's time that women are acknowledged as citizens and have the same rights as men. in 1972, the ERA passed in both houses of Congress. Supported by Republican President Richard Nixon, 35 states went on to pass the amendment.  However, it fell 3 states short of the 38-state requirement. Most recently, after 40 years of inaction, Nevada became the 36th state to pass the ERA, breathing new life into the idea that equality...

We Shop, Therefore We Are

We Shop, Therefore We Are

When did the transition of Thanksgiving weekend from a cozy family get-together to a full-on shopping extravaganza happen? Every year I’m taken by surprise at how we got here so quickly. I look back and it feels like just last week I was debating on whether to actually do New Year resolutions! Now LuLuBdesign is part of the madness and I realized I wasn’t sure when and how it all started. So here’s a bit of shopping history. Black Friday was associated with the 1869 financial crisis. The story goes that two scheming Wall Street types bought up a lot...
